FATUM
FATUM is a turn-based card detective game with a rich atmosphere and card merging mechanics, where players shape their own story through diverse actions and choices. Players assume the role of a detective who employs their skills and mystical practices to unravel mysterious crimes. The game's core plot revolves around the personal history of a detective who traded their fate for magical abilities. This story unfolds against the backdrop of a major investigation into the disappearance of a large number of random people in a provincial town.
During nights, the protagonist lays out "tarot" cards in a locked house, and the next day, everything laid out on the table comes to fruition. Gameplay covers nighttime actions, while daytime is off-screen. However, with each new turn, the house's interior changes based on the player's actions. Additionally, at the start of each turn, a mysterious opponent - the main character's interlocutor - interacts with the cards on the table. They explain the in-game events and assume various roles. Over time, it becomes clear that this opponent is Fate, which the hero battles and which aids them.
Cards in the players hand are Actions. Cards on the table are Entities. The icons on cards are aspects and anti-aspects. Based on their combinations, player can merge cards to get the unique once. The Player interact with Entities by combinations turn with Actions. If an Action card and an Entity card have the same aspects, they can be combined. If one card has an aspect X and the other has an anti-aspect X, they cannot be combined.
At the beginning of each turn, the player's hand and table gets filled with new cards based on the player's progress. During its turn the player can choose to merge cards, play them to resolve quests or chose to end the turn.
